Sherah Alaimo Interim Executive Director

Sherah Alaimo

Sherah Alaimo served as the Executive Director of Each One Save One and has been a mentor and child advocate in the community of Greater New Orleans and the state of Louisiana for over five years. She worked as Deputy Incident Commander, Community Liaison, and Recovery Director for The Salvation Army in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Working with Catholic Charities USA and ACF, Sherah also led a disaster recovery pilot administered by the Department of Health and Human Services in the state of Louisiana working with those affected by Gustav and Ike. She has also served as an alternative member on the senate appointed subcommittee for Children and Recovery. Before moving to Louisiana she worked for a private jet charter company and attended the University of Arkansas majoring in Communications. Sherah feels that the children of the GNO area still suffer from the aftermath of Katrina and more recent tragedies and she is excited to bring her skills to NOKP and begin making a difference one child at a time.

Yolanda graduated from Brown University in Rhode Island with a BA in psychology and plans to pursue a Masters in a development related field. In the meantime Yolanda hopes to gain a better understanding of poverty in the US and to continue building on her experience working with non-profits by serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA with NOKP.
