NOKP’s Family Engagement Working Group has spearheaded the production and dissemination of a comprehensive inventory of existing services for children, youth, and families throughout New Orleans. The result is the Connect 2 Educate Resources Directory, a free comprehensive guide to programs for children and youth ages 0-18. The directory includes information about programs, service locations, eligibility, cost, schedules, accommodations for special needs, and the mission of the program organization. Connect 2 Educate 2015 is now completed and available to the public at all New Orleans Public Library branches. Additionally, the Family Engagement Working Group is working to improve the quality of future editions of Connect 2 Educate by conducting data collection to assess and improve directory usage, access, and program content and quality.
Parents engaged during focus group to gather feedback and input for improving future editions of the directory.
