After three months of weekly collaborative literacy programming, our Read & Be Heard Early Childhood Literacy Collaborative partners and families came together to celebrate the grand finale event at the Louisiana Children’s Museum. The night started with a family dinner, followed by free play in the museum’s amazing, interactive exhibits, and ending with a musical story time. Since September, our partner organizations have been engaging with families and children ages 0-5 at the C. Barney Urban League Head Start Center to teach hands on and fun reading techniques proven to help prepare young children for school.
Thanks to all the great staff who made this happen and all our great families who participated! We are also so thankful to our community partner Target and their financial support that made this collaboration possible.
